What to Expect!
At South Shore, you can expect well-kept and clean cabins with warm Hudson Bay blankets, 24 hour generated electricity, and running water. SOUTH SHORE was built on one of the finest sites we've ever seen for a fishing and hunting camp. Our guest cabins are scattered irregularly along more than a quarter mile of peninsula shoreline. Some cabins have their own docks--others are built on rocky points, which extend out into the water. The cabins each have their own personality and are sufficiently separated to insure privacy. The main lodge is located centrally, on the high point of the peninsula, affording a wonderful view of the islands and lake. AT SOUTH SHORE LODGE, we feel that our remote location is a real plus for making your vacation trip a special adventure. To the east, west and south lie vast stretches of roadless wilderness and lakes containing no civilization other than an occasional winter trapper's cabin. To our north, it's over 25 miles by boat or plane to the town of Vermilion Bay. Rugged nature at it's finest begins at our back door.

From Our Kitchen
Here at SOUTH SHORE, we realize how important good food can be in helping to make vacation time enjoyable. Our delicious meals are served in the main lodge, overlooking the lake. Choice roasts, chops, BBQ ribs, Sunday turkey dinner (like grandma's thanksgiving), and select cuts of the finest Canadian beef are the order of the day. Combined with homemade breads, pastries and South Shore specialties, they make for memorable meals. Appetites get big in this fresh wilderness air and WE'RE READY TO SATISFY THE BIGGEST APPETITE YOU CAN BRING TO THE TABLE. Our shore lunch boxes are filled with everything you'll need for a tasty lunch on a scenic island or under a shade tree.

American Plan
Along with good fishing, peace and quiet, and miles from the "Hustle & Bustle" you won't be bothered with cooking, bed making, laundry etc....just fish, relax and enjoy good home-cooked meals with us in the main lodge. Bring your fishing gear and a few other necessities and leave the work and chores to us. You work hard enough all year and even though this isn't McDonald's "you do deserve a break today" ...come, sit back and enjoy.

Housekeeping Plan
A Housekeeping Plan is now available at South Shore Lodge, as requested by many Eagle Lake fishermen. A simple, understandable plan with no hidden charges once you've arrived. This plan accommodates fishermen who would like to be totally free from meal time scheduling.  Your cabin will have a kitchen with a stove and full size fridge, and be fully eqipped for cooking your own meals.  Charcoal bar-b-qs are available upon request and shore lunch boxes full of all the necessities to cook fish out on the lake are available as well.

Fish Fry Wednesdays
Starting in 2006, guests staying at South Shore Lodge will be able to enjoy a shore lunch prepared at camp by our staff every wednesday. Putting together a shore lunch can be challenging and many guests never experience one for this very reason. Starting in 2006, every guest that visits South Shore Lodge, from the seasoned angler to the beginner fisherman, will be able to experience what the true meaning of fresh fish really is. American plan guests and Housekeeping guests (for a minimal cost), will be able to enjoy shore lunch in camp. Simply bring in your morning's catch and the guys on the dock will expertly fillet your fish (boneless of course) while you wait. Bring your fillets to our shore lunch area and we will cook it shore lunch style over an open fire. Add in some potatoes and beans, a piece of buttered bread and there you have it. There is nothing like enjoying the “fruits of your labors” in the wild outdoors of North Western Ontario, WE GUARANTEE IT!
